Hanseong Kim has practiced intellectual property law in Korea since 2010, with experience spanning patent prosecution, post-grant proceedings, IP disputes, opinions and advisory matters.
His practice combines technical understanding with hands-on experience in Korean IP proceedings, with particular depth in life sciences, pharmaceuticals and other technology-intensive matters.

Experience in patent invalidation proceedings, scope-of-right confirmation proceedings and appeals from IP tribunal decisions involving life-science, chemical, material and industrial technologies.
Experience with Korean patent term extension and pharmaceutical patent listing matters, supported by academic study of Korea’s pharmaceutical and patent regulatory framework.
Freedom-to-operate, validity and infringement analysis involving pharmaceutical, consumer-product and industrial technologies, together with prior-art and claim analysis supporting prosecution and dispute strategy.
Korean trademark prosecution and conflict analysis, including matters involving prior rights, registrability and non-use cancellation proceedings.
Regular coordination with foreign patent and trademark counsel on Korean and multi-jurisdictional IP matters, including filing formalities, prosecution, deadlines and procedural requirements.
Experience in Korean plant variety protection, including work involving a newly developed kiwifruit cultivar.
BACKGROUND
Hanseong’s academic background includes genetic engineering and graduate study in the pharmaceutical industry field.
This technical training supports his work in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, chemistry and related life-science technologies, while his IP practice extends across a broader range of technical and commercial fields.
